“A week of camp life is worth 6 months of theoretical teaching”

Between the 3rd and the 6th of August, I camped at the Ghajn Tuffieha Scout Campsite together with the 1st Sliema Rover Crew Scouts. It was a week filled with loads of activities and new adventures.

The activities included pioneering projects, backwoods cooking, kayaking, high-rope activities, swimming, cooking, scout bread making & campfire. The skills that are gained from these projects might not be used on a daily basis, however, it definitely has benefits in the long term.

The skill possibilities that can be gained are endless.

Communicating, working in a team, coordinating, gaining responsibility, learning new cooking skills, learning new rope skills, handling a fire, leading a team, organizational skills, mapping, conflict resolution, handling projects, let alone the physical training that one does.
